Blind Pilot @ The Jefferson

So one of my favorite things about the music scene in Charlottesville is that it draws smaller, up-and-coming acts. Some of them I have heard of before and I get excited when their show date is released (like the Delta Spirit show in April). Other times, I end up finding new music just by checking out bands that are coming to town which is what happened in this instance.

This Friday (February 17), the Portland-based band Blind Pilot is playing at the Jefferson Theater. They are touring after releasing their sophomore album, "We Are The Tide," in September 2011 which was chosen to be part of NPR Music's "First Listen" series. Their debut album, "3 Rounds and a Sound", was included on NPR's "Best of 2008" list. Check out both albums on Spotify and see if you enjoy them.

Also check out their acoustic performance of  "New York" that was filmed in New Orleans over Halloween Weekend 2011 as part of a set for Liveset.com.

Anyone want to check out the concert with me?
